January opened the sixth year of our project; we have come a long way to reach this point. In the beginning I estimated seven years to complete this job, and now it looks like we are one year ahead of schedule - but we must keep in mind that there is still a lot of work which must be done before the SeaGoat will be completed. I didn't spent a lot of time working on the SeaGoat this month. I only did a few shelves. I spent many hours getting the list of sailing hardware ready. Things such as tracks, blocks cleats etc. I was also working on the design of the swimming platform. By the end of the month I added one more task to my list - the davit for an inflatable dinghy. I added this task to my TO DO list because something unusual happened this month. Every year - during the winter, in January, there is a large Boat Show in Toronto. We went on Saturday January 21st to see what is new and what is hot for boat market in this year. On this day Barbara took the opportunity to draw one of the three grand prices. This lottery was set up by The Boating Discovery. It was a very lucky day for Barbara - actually for both of us - because she won the second price. She won the Zodiac inflatable dinghy, two paddles, two life jackets and 4.5HP Yamaha motor. This price was exactly what we needed for The SeaGoat. From now on the SeaGoat has the SeaKid. To add the SeaKid to the SeaGoat we need a kind of the davit.

The anchor - a little to big for us.
On January 15th - the weather was beautiful but extremely cold and windy. This picture was taken in the Whitby Marina Park.

She had to be very nice boat long time ago.

Barbara is waiting for the draw. She had no clue as to what was going to happen a few minutes later.

What other people are waiting for ? - I'm going to win

Surprice ....
And we have a lucky winner
