![]() What a mess!!. |
To install the mast on the top of the cabin I had to install, 5inches in diameter, aluminum pipe. The original plan says that the system of supports/floors must be assembled under the cabin sole. I made that a long time ago, but now I wasn’t sure if it was strong enough. The mast, which was in Peters place, looked very heavy, and I decided to make this support stronger. I decided to use concrete, and fill up all the empty spaces beneath the sole – creating solid block, sitting on the keel. I did the calculation of how much more lead I have to put into the keel. I have the data with weight of each single piece of lead already installed. I’ve found out that I need 1100 lbs of lead more. To create concrete solid block I needed 8 bags of premixed dry concrete – 30kg each. Together it was 240kg what is an equivalent of 700 lbs. |

The mast support sits on the concrete block - not on the sole. |

| In this month I had enough time to get working on two helms. I have run the control cables from the cockpit helm to the pilothouse helm, and from the pilothouse helm to the engine. The path of the control cables was almost straight, what gave me the opportunity to avoid using special. and expensive transfer boxes. Now I can operate from both locations. | ![]() Four control cables run from helm station. |

Waiting for standing rigging, I’ve installed back chine plates. For back plates (inside the cabin) I used regular painted steel. Now fore inner shrouds (attached to side of cabin) have solid support - they are fixed to the cabin side, and to the bulkheads. |

![]() Hawseholes - drain is not finished yet in this area. |
Two hawseholes have been installed. Before I had two of them, but they are used as drains from the foredeck only. As a spacers I used ¾” thick of Star Board. |
![]() From outside both hawseholes look nice. |

![]() Ready for mast installation.. |
On the top of the cabin I’ve installed the bottom mast aluminum cast. In the middle of the cast I’ve installed a PVC pipe for the cables. |
| Finally I put the cushions in the pilothouse. The cushions are custom made, and cost me dearly. I would never expect such a high price for a four pieces of heavy-duty foam, and fabrics. Now the pilothouse became cozy, and looks very nice. And it is such a pleasure to sit down on something what is not hard and not sticky. | ![]() This pictures was taken through the hatch. |
![]() RCMP. |
One weekend a big catamaran (aluminum) of RCMP visited our harbor. |
| A serious piping begun – Tens of feet of a different kinds of hoses, tens of fittings and ball valves, dozens of Teflon Tape rolls, and a number of hours, spent to get everything together in the right order. I didn’t finish the installation as a whole, but the major part is done completely. | ![]() A lot of parts were assambled |
